Netiquette by Ms. Hailey Taylor (TWE Librarian)

One of the many things our students are good at is texting.  Many of them can text faster than we can type. As technology becomes more widespread and more accessible, making sure our students know the Do’s and Don’ts of texting, and other online communications, is growing increasingly more important. I asked our 5th graders to help me make our younger students more aware of just how their text messages are coming across to those that receive them. They impressed me by going above and beyond by creating “Texting Netiquette” posters for all who walk our halls. Our creative and clever students are reinforcing proper communication techniques while bringing to light common texting mistakes and ways to avoid them. I can only hope this will enlighten our students and emphasize what they are learning in the library and the classroom!
