In preparation for our recent MLK Day Tribute, 4th graders wrote "I Have a Dream" essays. This is one of the essays chosen for sharing at the assembly.
I have a dream that the world shall stop littering. If we
stop littering, our beloved Earth will become a better place. It will make the
Earth cleaner and she will give us fresh air. Earth will also provide us with
fresh food, fresh air, fresh water, and more. Not littering will also stop
polluting the beautiful ocean which is filled with wonders. Not littering will
also stop killing amazing animals. The animals won’t eat the garbage so they
won’t choke and perish. Not littering will also make nature happy. If we stop
littering, it will stop causing forest fires. We shouldn’t put flammable things
next to fire in a forest so that the trees won’t catch on fire. Not littering
will also make us happy. We will feel happy that we made a change in the world.
That too is a good change. We will not feel guilty that we polluted the world. We
must make a good change in the world. I have a dream!
