Partners in Education by Charlotte Gilder

Welcome back!  We are excited you have trusted us with your children for the 2014-2015 school year.  If I haven’t welcomed you officially, ‘welcome to the best school in Katy ISD’. I am thrilled to start another school year, my 20th year as an educator, and I still LOVE it!  I am one of the assistant principals and will be working closely with Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades this year.  We are thrilled about working in partnership with each of you.

Speaking of partnerships, I want to share some information with you about our Partners in Education (PIE) Program.  In Partners in Education, everything is traced to a student in a desk.  The premise of PIE is working collaboratively with businesses to make an impact in the lives of children.  Working with local businesses allows us an opportunity to watch the evolution of relationships over time.  The relationship mostly revolves around people resources and is not always financial.  The core values of Partners in Education are:

·         Choose what’s best for kids

·         Put people first

·         Respect one another’s organizational purpose

·         Create new partnership opportunities

·         Both business and school actively participate in the partnership

Here’s a few events/activities partners have helped with at TWE:

·         Spirit nights-McDonald’s, Spring Creek, Chick Fil A, TCBY

·         Teacher treats for back-to-school

·         Monthly gift certificates for teachers from Cinco Ranch Spa

·         Educate students about dental health/hygiene from Hanis and Stevenson Orthodontics

If you are interested in starting a business-school partnership with TWE, please contact me.  We are eager to work with you to make a difference in the lives of our children.
