Parenting Tips by Rhonda Henderson

Being a parent is definitely the most difficult job! We all want our children to grow up to be happy and successful with as few bumps along the road as possible. Finding a balance between work, school, extra-curriculars and down time can be challenging. Reliable information on parenting is important. We invite our TWE parents to participate in our Lunch and Learn sessions this year. These sessions are designed to help you learn about our curriculum, developmental milestones your child might experience and other parenting concerns. We are currently finalizing our plans and will keep you posted when it is time to sign up for these informative sessions. In the meantime, here are links to some of my favorite websites that provide a wealth of information for you to explore.

www.parenttoolkit.com - This website is a production of NBC News and has information on developmental milestones for your child physically and academically at each level from early childhood - grade 12. There is a wealth of free information available for parents.

www.micheleborba.com -Dr. Borba is one of my favorite childhood behavior experts. Her website has many free articles and books for purchase that you may find helpful as a parent.

www.loveandlogic.com - This philosophy was developed by Jim Fay and Dr. Cline and is one of the tools that we use to help teachers and parents with holding students accountable for their behaviors and developing responsible citizens. The website has free articles and information about their products that are for sale.

www.safeandcivilschools.com - We use the CHAMPS model for classroom and schoolwide management at TWE. This website provides an overview of that program if you are interested in learning more.

It is our desire to work in partnership with our families to develop healthy and well -rounded citizens. Thanks for supporting us! Tune in tomorrow to learn more about the STEAM in "Full STEAM Ahead".
