TWE Kindergarten Team by Rhonda Henderson

We are fortunate to be blessed with an outstanding group of educators on our TWE Kindergarten team. This is a job I greatly respect. Through the years, I have learned that there is so much thought that goes into teaching a child how to read, get along with others and manage school and life in general. So today, we pay tribute to our Kinder teachers and the hard work they do each day!

Stephanie Culbertson, Leslie Turner, Lacey Abraham, Renee Spath, Lisa Tas, Kathryn Munford, Rachel Williams and Fernando Echeverri

About the team:
Kathryn Munford (Team Leader): Mrs. Munford graduated from the University of Houston and has worked in a variety of roles since graduation. This is her 13th year teaching kindergarten and she is always learning and growing just like the students in my classroom! Mrs. Munford is currently attending the Rice ELLA program as a part of a grant awarded to her.

Lacey Abraham: Mrs. Abraham believes that kindergarten is an exciting year, and she is thrilled to teach each student. She graduated from Texas A&M University and is in her 9th year of teaching. All of her teaching experience is in Katy ISD and in kindergarten. Mrs. Abraham says that she loves witnessing the moments when a child masters a skill, and she looks forward to many of those moments during the year.

Stephanie Culbertson: Mrs. Culbertson is in her first year of teaching and is excited to have that experience at TWE. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University. Her classroom is warm and inviting with lots of time built in for learning and fun. She was selected as our TWE Outstanding First Year Teacher of the Year. Her colleagues are excited to have her represent our school with this honor!

Fernando Echeverri: Mr. Echeverri attended both the University of Houston and St. Thomas University. He has been a teacher for 11 years. During that time, he has taught in general education grade level classrooms, bilingual classrooms, Special Education classrooms and now Kindergarten. He loves teacher kindergarten and hopes to impact students with engaging and interactive learning activities.

Renee Spath: Full STEAM Ahead has been the theme for Mrs. Spath this year as she has infused Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math into her classroom. Mrs. Spath graduated from the University of Louisisana at Lafayette. She has been a teacher for 15 years and also spent 2 years teaching teachers how to incorporate technology in the classroom. She and Mrs. Munford are designing a "Maker Space" for kindergarten students in our TWE Kindergarten Kitchen area. We are looking forward to seeing our young students create!

Lisa Tas: Mrs. Tas LOVES teaching kindergarten. She is in her 15th year of teaching. Mrs. Tas is a member of the original Wolfpack. She has her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and has taught in Oklahoma and New York in addition to Texas.

Leslie Turner: Mrs. Turner is excited to join the Wolfpack this year as a kindergarten teacher. She graduated from Prairie View A&M University. During her 6 years as a teacher, she has taught Pre-K and Kindergarten. She brings a sweet and nurturing spirit with her. We are happy to welcome her to TWE.

Rachel Williams: Mrs. Williams graduated from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. During her 10 years of teaching, she has taught in Michigan, North Carolina and Texas. This is her fourth year in Katy ISD. She finds it rewarding to be a part of watching our youngest learners grow by leaps and bounds and be a part of fun, learning and exploration with them.

  1. Yeah dear I really appreciate teachers work, and I have also worked for 4 years in Phoenix kindergarten. I love teachers who help kids to learn new things with new and interesting methods. I always loved to bring smile on kids’ faces when I was working.
